Week 25
The week started off with a midwife appointment (that would've been at 24 weeks, but we were away). The appointment went really well. We went over my totally normal ultrasound results, my belly is measuring perfectly on track, and I got to hear the baby's heartbeat thumping away at 140 bpm. I've been feeling tons of movement and love when I feel big kicks from the outside.

On Wednesday I finally got myself back to the gym. I went to an evening class because one of our coaches is leaving, bye Leslie!
I did regular kipping pull ups for the chest to bar, subbed bird dogs for the toes to bar, did 85# for the deadlifts, and did 15# for the OHS. I kept my squats above parallel and everything felt really good.
On Friday I peeled myself out of bed for the 6 am class. The strength was walking lunges and I knew they were not a good idea for my already aching pelvis, so I skipped them and did a bunch of snatches that were prescribed the week before: every 90s, 5 touch and go snatches, 5 rounds. I did them at 55#.
The WOD was a bunch of rowing, dubs (I biked), dumbbell snatches (I used 20#), and burpees (I did squat thrusters). It wasn't my favorite workout, but everything felt good.
The big event of Week 25 was Michelle and Alex's wedding celebration! They got married in Glacier National Park, Montana about a month ago and then had a lovely brunch celebration in Stroudsburg. I am happy that I unplugged and just let myself be in the moment, but I didn't take any pictures at the reception... not the family pic I wanted to get of myself, Vienna, and Dave, and not 1 bump pic while I was all dressed up. They had a photographer there for the day, so I know we got some nice family shots, but... fail.
We stayed at their house for the after party and I stayed up until almost 3 am... and then heard the baby at 6 something. We didn't get out of bed until 8 am, but Sunday was ROUGH. On top of not sleeping, my back felt wrecked from sitting in camping chairs all day and night, so now I'm trying to think of how I'm going to combat that at Folk Fest. When we got home, we all took a nice long nap and then I went to bed at 9:15.
Week 26
The third trimester is looming and I feel it. I said last time that this week was a turning point for my body and I was starting to feel less comfortable and my stomach was starting to feel heavy... yup! I went out for a field visit on Tuesday, which involved a bunch of walking around in the heat and humidity and it really wiped me out. I was feeling pretty crappy when I got home from work and thankfully Dave swooped in to make dinner.
I was starting to think that my pelvis was feeling a little better and then I ran through a parking lot in pouring rain on Wednesday evening and suddenly felt like my pelvis and back were both in a bad place. I called my PT's office last week and apparently my PT is still out on leave. They asked me if I wanted to see one of the two other women's health PTs there and I said sure, then they asked me if I had a prescription. I told them I was never discharged so I shouldn't need one. Apparently since I haven't been there in a few months (because they canceled my last appointment and then never bothered to call me to ask if I wanted to continue my care with another PT...) they closed out my account. They had no problem calling me multiple times to collect my last payment, but apparently updating me about my PT's status or checking in on me was too much for them... so that's irritating. I am going to ask for an Rx at my next midwives appointment, but I won't be able to get in before Fest.
So I talked to my chiro and doula and consulted the internet and right now I am just trying to do whatever I can to feel better before all the walking next weekend. I was instructed to avoid excessive walking and stairs, I need to keep my pelvis as symmetrical as possible (when sitting - no crossed legs, when getting out of bed, when putting on pants, etc.), I have a few PT glute exercises I'm doing, and I'm just trying to take it easy in general.
I was considering going to the gym Wednesday morning, but after feeling crappy Tuesday night and trying to give my pelvis a rest, I decided to just skip it. I did go Friday morning and didn't do any of the normal workout. I did some of my PT exercises and then my coach came up with a great arm/upper body only workout that did not affect my pelvis at all.
I did 4 rounds of each instead of 3. I used a 15# dumbbell.
I'm starting to wonder if I'm done doing any kind of olympic lifting, pull ups, etc... but right now I'm just trying to focus on feeling as fresh as possible for Folk Fest and then I'll have to see what the PT says whenever I get there. I've read about pregnant women who end up on crutches due to pelvic dysfunction, so I'm going to do whatever I have to do to avoid making my situation worse. Maybe I'll just be working on my guns for the rest of this pregnancy. Can't say having super strong arms would be the worst thing for a mama that will be lugging around 2 kids! It is what it is, so I'm just going to stay as active as possible and not stress about it.

Shout out to Fotovic & Company for the awesome backdrop!
